Paper Stitching
Paper stitching is a fun, inexpensive
embellishment for any project! Bazzill makes it super-easy with
their punch tool, piercing mat, and floss. Plus, the Bazzill In-Stitch'z
Idea Book 2 is in stock at Scrapbooks from the Heart! I'm posting
some cute ideas below that were originally posted at
Method Playground and Bazzill.

- Here's a few ways to add stitching:
- Cut a design from patterned paper, adhere it to solid cardstock like Bazzill, draw some stitching
lines around it with a white journaling pen, and then stitch part of the design in the patterned paper.

- Draw a flourish or doodle on a scrap piece of vellum. Hold it over your project and use it as a pattern
for punching the holes you need to stitch. Set the vellum aside and add your actual stitching. Sometimes just the
punching is cute, too!

- Bazzill makes pre-punched papers that you just add stitching: stars, hearts, scalloped edges. We have some in the store now!
- Adding stitching in the middle of your paper flowers with one color, then stitching the vines or leaves in another color adds lots of detail for the eye to follow!
- You can also add brads amidst the stitching after you have finished with your flossing step.
- Another way to add stitching is with your sewing machine.
Or-you can add the holes with your unthreaded sewing machine and
then leave the punched holes or thread some of them by hand.
The possibilities are ENDLESS!! Be sure to practice on some scraps or on some play pages. You wouldn't want to try it for the first time on an important project and then be disappointed in the technique! Embroidery floss is available at Scrapbooks from the Heart or in most sewing departments at discount and hobby stores.
